Empire Strikes Back Stormtrooper Armor

Behold the awesomeness of my Empire Strikes Back stormtrooper armor! “What makes it ‘Empire Strikes Back’,” you ask? A few things. First off the frown is black. The stormtroopers in ANH (A New Hope – the first Star Wars movie in 1977) had gray frowns.  The ANH stormtroopers also had hand painted “tube stripes” and “traps” on their helmets. In Empire Strikes Back those were all decals. The ESB troopers also (for the most part) got shorter, silk gloves with the new “snowtrooper”...

The Flash

As of August of 2011 I have a Flash costume. This is something I’ve wanted to make and own for years, probably since I was a kid, and finally got a chance to do a really good one. For the suit I got a red, full-face suit from superfansuits.com (totally awesome suits for anything like this sort of thing!) Then I bought a Captain America mask, had my good friend Tye O’Dell (our local “Green Arrow”) sand down and fill in the “A” so it was smooth, trimmed it off some then used 3M spray glue to adhere it to the...

Rube Dugan’s Diving Bell

If you visited Silver Dollar City between 1978 and 1984, then you may remember a ride called “Rube Dugan’s Diving Bell”. Located where the “Lost River of the Ozarks” is now, the Diving Bell was a simulation ride, that took passengers on an journey to the bottom of Lake Silver and back. They told SDC it would be impossible to do… but IF it WAS done… couldn’t be done for under 6 million dollars. Silver...

My Hagrid Costume

Here I am in the Hagrid costume I made. I wove the entire beard and wig, made the shoes and sewed all the clothing. Turned out pretty good I thought. I’m just over 7 feet tall in it. This was taken at the Lubbock, TX (we were there for a wedding) Barnes and Noble on the night of the “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” release party. I got put on spotted.lubbockonline.com with it.

Ferengi Costume

In 2005 I made a Ferengi mask and costume. I have since sold both. For the jacket I bought a woman’s jacket from Kohl’s that I then altered by cutting and embellishing. I then sculpted the mask and bought some “Orc” teeth from an online dealer.  The pants were women’s stretch pants. The shirt I made from some stretch fabric I bought with a Ferengi-like pattern. The boots were fisherman wading boots from Bass Pro Shops. All in all it turned out quite well and I will probably make another one for myself one...

More of my past costumes

Below are some of my past costumes I’ve done for myself and for others. These photos include things like my “pirate” crewman costume, to Wolverine (featured above), my sister’s Mystique make-up, Bananas in Pajamas, custom Vampire teeth, Peloquin make-up from Clive Barker’s “Nightbreed” and a Tim Burton style Vampire. Many of these costumes and make-up date back to the early 1990s.
