This is little Even at about a week shy of 5 months old. I was doing the thing in the mirror and stopped (before filming this) and she started lifting her legs and trying to ‘walk’ towards the mirror. So we had to film it. :)

Scottlyn loves the Star Wars movies and the action figures. I keep them in my shed so it’s always a special treat when we get to go play in the shed. I still have all the toys from when I was a kid (i.e., 1977).

Scottlyn loves watching me work on armor in the shed. A couple of days ago she picked up a piece of scrap I cut off my new Troopermaster set and started carrying it around saying, “Armor.” Today Celeste put a piece of tape on the back so she can “wear” it. She loves it. I’m so proud! :)

We teach Scottlyn the important things for sure. Like how to use a Keurig, for example.

What she says at the end is “bear bear”… meaning she now wants her stuffed bear to come make a coffee too.

I’ve thought about buying the 8mm Vintage Camera app for the iPhone for a good few weeks now and finally did today. Within two minutes of owning it I was in love! I can see this being a very bad thing as my older self will more than likely be mad at my younger, “present day”self because all our videos will end up being shot with this. haha

Seriously though, it was well worth the $1.99!!

Scottlyn is like me in that she’s entertained by the simple things in life. Stuffed rabbit… cardboard tube… hours of fun! Or at least 20 minutes.

Scottlyn has known about stormtroopers since she was very, very little. She just found out about Darth Vader a few months ago while looking through a “Return of the Jedi” picture book. She saw him and pointed to him and I said, “That’s Darth Vader… he sounds like this…” then proceeded to do the breathing. Later while we were watching clips from Star Wars: A New Hope — which I had also been showing her in very small doses for a long time — I decided to show her Vader. So I skipped back to the opening scene after all the blaster fire and just before he walks in.

Right about where he puts his hands on his hips the music dies down and his breathing kicks in really loudly. Scottlyn just turned and looked at me in awe. Like, “Dad! You were right!”

She’s been able to do his breathing ever since.

She loves “The Munsters” (especially Herman and Lily) and started singing the theme song today.

We let Scottlyn eat some ice cream on her birthday at Chick-fil-A. She loved it. :)

Scottlyn loves to play fetch with my in-law’s dog Cisco… as you can plainly tell.
