Wendy Leaumont send us a link to her pictures from the Hogwarts Halloween today.
Wendy came as Serena from Bewitched, and her husband (our friend) Dave came as Tim the Enchanter, from Monty Python’s Holy Grail. He actually made a head piece with real goat horns on it!
Pictured here are my mom and dad as Mother Goose and the Minister of Magic Cornelius Fudge. There are lots of good ones, so go check them out!
We did a lot to decorate and theme the party this year. From hanging jack-o-lanterns with invisible fishing line, to providing a hand made wand (thanks to Mike Teuber) to every guest. One thing we did that helped add to the ambiance and atmosphere was to print a few large Harry Potter theme posters.
Here’s a look at the 3 we made and then had printed. They were each 22 x 34 inches and mounted on foam core.
If you’d like to download the PDFs to print these yourself, please feel free to do so here. If you do use them, please email us and let us know… even send pictures of how you used them. If you link to them, please give us credit. Oh, and the Potion Brew poster is 10 meg… big images.

Here are pictures my dad took at the party. Click on the images to see the bigger ones. If you’d like a print of any one of them, you are welcome to download it and print it out, or email us and let me know what image you’d like and my dad can mail you a print (for a small fee of course).
Here is the first picture from the 2007 Hogwarts Halloween. It is Hagrid (yours truly in my home-made Hagrid costume) with Professor Trelawney (Celeste).
The party was a huge success with around 60 attendees. The costumes were AMAZING!!! And we would like to say a big thank you to everyone who attended!
There will be more pictures (lots more) on here soon.

11 Oct 2007Every year, it seems like Noel and I are the most excited during October. For one, it’s my birthday month:). But, that aside, there are so many things to love about October/the Fall . . .I feel a top ten list coming on . . .
Here I am in the Hagrid costume I made. I wove the entire beard and wig, made the shoes and sewed all the clothing. Turned out pretty good I thought. I’m just over 7 feet tall in it.
This was taken at the Lubbock, TX (we were there for a wedding) Barnes and Noble on the night of the “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” release party. I got put on spotted.lubbockonline.com with it.

20 Jun 2007Here’s a nice picture of what it’s like to go shoe shopping with me. Of course this is for when you’re buying materials for Hagrid’s shoes… which is certainly a bit different than going to Payless.
By the way, the shoes turned out GREAT! But you’ll have to wait until Halloween for online visuals of my Hagrid costume.
Our Halloween party went off great. Everyone came in costume and in character! Everyone stayed in character too!
The theme was “Men in Black are recruiting”. So everyone came as someone the Men in Black might want as an agent. Noel was “Marshall Flinkman” from Alias, but as if he was already an agent of the MiB… so he was “Agent M”. Others that were in attendance were Merlin the Wizard, the Lady of the Lake, Sherlock Holmes, Agatha Christie, Columbo, Carmen San Diego (Celeste), Clark Kent, Chloe Sullivan, Edgar the bug (from the first MiB movie), Bortasha Badenov, Dr. Emmett Brown, Dr. Evil, Eric Cartman, Edna Mode, Jim Street, Mystique, and Dr. Hank McCoy (the Beast).
Upon arrivaal guests recieved a packet containing their temporary MiB ID card, as well as a list of objectives the participants had to achieve by the end of the night. They had to complete tests in sharp shooting, bomb defusing, awareness and code breaking. They also had to obtain one piece of information from 3 different specified guests. They were also to collect hidden items in the form of a “code”, “alias”, and “passport” cards. All of these things added up to points the recieved at the end of the night, at which point they were also given a 3 page exam. The exam was based on the MiB manual we wrote for the party (email us if you’d like a copy), as well as observation questions from the night, and a general knowledge section. Prizes were awarded for best costume, best character, and best overall score… which won the place in the MiB.
Everyone had a great time!
Finally, here are a few pictures from the party.
