Downtown Albuquerque with Jason

We took Jason to downtown Albuquerque today and walked around a bit. It was really fun as Celeste and I hadn’t been there to just walk around ourselves. We’d gone down there for business reasons, but walking up and down Central is quite different than parking at a government building to file paperwork.

One of the highlights was stopping in at the Gold Street Caffe. (yes, that’s how it’s spelled) We’re planning on going back there for breakfast on Tuesday morning before we drop him off at the airport.

After we went downtown we stopped off at Borders in Uptown Albuquerque. Celeste’s parents ended up coming by and hanging out a little as well. It was a great afternoon.

Working at Flying Star

We love Flying Star restaurants here in Albuquerque. Today we went and worked a while from the one on Juan Tabo. It was so wonderful!

Our Last Trip to Dubai

We left Al Ain for the last time today (at least on this trip) and headed to Dubai to hang out at the Mall of the Emirates and then catch our flight home.  It was very sad to leave, but it was a great, great trip and we know we may be back one day.  Though going without Ryan, Colleen, Henry and Ole there wouldn’t be the same at all, and we’re thankful they’ll be “home” this summer too.

One Last Coffee at Al Jimi

We went to Al Jimi mall again and had coffee at both Dunkin Donuts and the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. We will miss the malls for sure.

Dunkin Donuts in the Al Ain Mall

No, I’m not posting continually about Dunkin Donuts just so they will continue to send us vouchers (great marketing though!)  We just happen to go there a lot because they have great coffee!

Here are a few pictures back in the Al Ain mall…

Ryan’s Rugby Game

We all got to go to see Ryan and his Rugby team play Saudi Arabi’s team today. They have a really, really nice Rugby clubhouse here in Al Ain now so a lot of the teams come here to play. After the game (which Ryan’s team won by a large amount) we headed to Al Jimi mall again for some lunch and… of course… coffee.

Downtown Al Ain

We did something a little different today… instead of one of the malls for coffee we went back to downtown Al Ain and to The Mug Cafe. After that we walked around a bit, at at farooj (a great shawarma place) and watched some alley cats (the only kind of cat in the UAE) fight it out over territory. It was a great afternoon!

A Normal Day in the UAE

Here’s a pretty normal day for us.  First, sit around with Henry playing with stuff.  Then head to Al Jimi mall (today we took a cab) and have Dunkin Donuts coffee (mmm mmm good!)  Sit outside and wait on Ryan and Colleen.  Finally, head back inside to Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf for more coffee.  Of course we’re usually with Ryan and Colleen, or at least Colleen, all day… but that’s still pretty typical of a nice relaxing non-work day here.

Celeste got some clay for Henry… he LOVED it!Me and Henry playing with his clay.Me at our new favorite coffee place, Dunkin Donuts. Our new favorite coffee place, Dunkin Donuts.Celeste at our new favorite coffee place, Dunkin Donuts.
