First Ultrasound

Here’s pictures of our baby’s first ultrasound from this morning. It was truly amazing.

I’ve always enjoyed seeing people’s ultrasound pictures, but I’ve also always been really keenly aware that I don’t fully appreciate it. I always knew that if God were every gracious to me and blessed us with children it would become much more “real.” I was right.

Seeing the baby move around, and looking at their “picture” is beyond anything I could’ve thought it would be. It’s so real now… so amazing… and I / we are so very thankful!

  1. I just love him/her already!! It really is an amazing experience, isn’t it?! I was looking at Anna Kate’s ultrasound pictures the other day and just marveled at how wonderful it is to know her now – with her little personality and individuality. I was so in love with that “skeleton baby” – but it is amazing to look back at these pictures later and imagine them being HER inside of there. :) You’ll never look at (anyone’s) ultrasound pictures the same way again! Its completely awesome. :) Love you three!

  2. Celeste,

Mom told me the other day you two were expecting and I was so excited! Congratulations to the both of you!!! You will only come to love that baby you’re carrying inside you more and more with each passing day. When he/she gets here, you will have this love for them that you never knew existed. It is an amazing feeling and such a miracle. What a blessing from God to get to experience. I’m so happy for you both and pray for a healthy baby and mommy. Are you going to find out what you are having or let it be a surprise?

    Waiting with anticipation!!

  3. Thanks all!

And, no, we’re not finding out what the gender is.

I grew up with a magician for an older brother so I learned long ago the joy of “not knowing.” And Celeste has always not wanted to know as well. So we are in one accord on this just like everything else. :)

  4. This is so exciting!!! I love those ultrasound pics! It is crazy how much seeing that baby on the screen changes everything…it’s no longer a “dream,” but a reality and that is an awesome feeling! Hope you’re feeling okay and can’t wait to see some cute pics of you, Celeste! :)
