A New Year and some New Names

Hello Blogland!

Well, we here at noelgreen.com sure do like to go a while between posts. We’re not abandoning ship; we’ve simply had too much going on!

Our Christmas was wonderful with time here with my family and then Christmas Day with Noel’s family in MO. Noel’s family is so big that we literally opened presents from 11 in the morning until 6 pm. It was so nice to have time with our families. It was actually my first Christmas away from my parents in my entire life. Next year, we will ’swap’ and do Thanksgiving in MO and Chrismas here.

We celebrated the new year with our Bible study group and then had a quiet day at home. We’re simple folks.

Oh, the new names?

Mommy and Daddy.

That’s me and Noel. God has been rich and gracious to us and we are more than humbly blessed to say we’re expecting. The due date is July 28th and we’ve already heard the heartbeat – strong and beautiful.

I’m just over 13 weeks. In case you think we’re those stalwart types who kept this quiet for this long, we didn’t. We just didn’t want to blog it until we were in the 2nd trimester.

Now, for the questions . .

No, we’re not finding out what it is.

No, you can’t hear the names. Seriously.

No, I never threw up. I wanted to a couple of times, but never did.

No weird cravings yet unless avoiding sweets, coffee (gasp!), and chocolate counts. All I want is salt, salt, salt.

I might post pictures when I feel like I really ‘look’ pregnant and not just like I ate too much at lunch . . . which I didn’t:).

That’s all for now! We pray you have had a blessed start to 2009. Everything we have comes from the Lord. May we never forget it!

Hooray!!! Even though I already knew the news it’s still exciting and I’m rejoicing with you guys! I tend to get all sappy and sentimental when I think about friends of mine becoming parents for the first time because I know how big of a deal it is and how drastically their lives are about to change (for the better, of course). I just know you’re going to be such wonderful parents and can’t wait for you to join the “club!” I’m not a bit surprised about your choice to keep the name a secret and not find out about the gender until baby is here and I support you in those decisions…as long as you let us know if it’s a boy or girl and what his/her name is when he/she is born. ;) Love you guys!

I hear that some pretty amazing people were born on July 28th (myself & Ella Whaley just to name a couple:) I also had already heard the exciting news, but am glad it has officially been announced so that I can say CONGRATS! To think that this all began in our candle-filled apt when Noel popped the big question…you guys are great & we are so happy for you all! May God bless your growing family!

Good for you!! I wish that I had had enough self control to wait to find out the sex. And I’m totally with you on the name, too. :) You do seem to get asked the same questions over and over. And having just gone through that and knowing better than ask these questions to newly pregnant people – I still can’t help myself. :) Glad you are feeling good.

I am so happy for both of you. I am glad you have been feeling so good and I hope the rest of your pregnancy is enjoyable. It will go so fast. Congrats again – You are going to be a great mommy.
