hulu.com - TV & Movies

Hulu.com

If you’ve not yet heard of hulu.com, don’t worry, neither had I. However, while flipping through Entertainment Weekly at Barnes and Noble yesterday I stumbled upon it… and am now in love.

It seems that the TV networks, and their subsidiary corporations that make movies, have finally realized the internet is not a threat. In fact, since ABC has been airing its shows after they have aired on TV they (the corporations) have realized that, “It appears to not be cannibalizing regular, linear television because most consumers who are watching are saying they’re catching up.

We could’ve told you THAT!!!

I’m sort of amazed at what all is on there already. Great shows like The Office, Arrested Development and Battlestar Galactica… quite a few recent movies… and old stuff like Buck Rogers (not to mention the original BSG.)

My TK Armor

Yesterday we had invited all the local 501st members over to help me put together my TK armor. Our new friend, Alex, who is also a 501st hopeful, was here too putting the finishing touches on his armor. It’s pretty amazing to finish it all in a day, AND to have it done so well! Some people take months to put their armor together… and I understand why. It was a lot of work, and I could NOT have done it without everyone’s help. Everyone just grabbed something and started working. Thanks again guys!

So, around 2:30 a.m. I had my armor on and was getting my pictures taken for submission to the Legion. Here are pictures of the process.

Got Armor?

I got my Stormtrooper (a.k.a. TK) armor, boots, under armor top, and blaster this past week. In fact, much of it was here when we got back from the UAE.

Classical Christian Education

If you’ve never heard of Classical Christian Education it’s probably not what you think it is. If you’ve not heard about it and you either a) are in the education field, b) have children in public schools, or c) care about the future of our children and the education that we provide for them, then you should do some reading on this topic.

I’m not going to post much on it here, but I will give these two sources. First, an excellent book written by one of the pioneers of this method of education called “Recovering the Lost Tools of Learning.

Second is this short video about the Logos School in Moscow, Idaho. It is a brief, yet excellent, glimpse into what Classical Christian Education is all about.

Video thumbnail. Click to play

Please, if you’re reading this, and want a better future for our kids, then research this method. I know so, so very many of you who could become a part of this and benefit it as it benefits you! I truly believe this is something that God is revealing at this time in history.

Flying Home

We had such a great time in the UAE this time… probably even better than the first time we went… but it’s always good to come home.

Our Last Trip to Dubai

We left Al Ain for the last time today (at least on this trip) and headed to Dubai to hang out at the Mall of the Emirates and then catch our flight home.  It was very sad to leave, but it was a great, great trip and we know we may be back one day.  Though going without Ryan, Colleen, Henry and Ole there wouldn’t be the same at all, and we’re thankful they’ll be “home” this summer too.

Henry on the Porch

Henry loved being out on the porch with us.  Actually, he loved being out on the porch with himself too.  He would sing and talk and make faces and watch himself eat in the reflection of the doors.  Then he’d climb all over Celeste and haver her sing to him… again… all while stealing glimpses of himself in the reflection.  Ahhh… good times!

We went to Al Jimi mall again and had coffee at both Dunkin Donuts and the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. We will miss the malls for sure.
