My Hagrid Costume

Here I am in the Hagrid costume I made. I wove the entire beard and wig, made the shoes and sewed all the clothing. Turned out pretty good I thought. I’m just over 7 feet tall in it.
This was taken at the Lubbock, TX (we were there for a wedding) Barnes and Noble on the night of the “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” release party. I got put on spotted.lubbockonline.com with it.

LOVE IT!!! My two daughters are dressing up as Hermione and Ginny Weasley this year and I am going to try to make your Hagrid costume for my husband to wear as he accompanies them around the neighborhood. I found the Wrights “Simple Scarf Mesh” online, but I would really appreciate it if you could tell me the name/brand of the yarn or where you bought it? I’m a knitter but that one doesn’t look familiar to me. Also, what did you use to secure the layers of foam insulation together for the shoes? Brilliant idea! The beard and wig look a million times better than anything commercially available and I never would have thought of making platform shoes that way. So grateful for any info you can provide, thanks in advance, Sharon
